French Street-Artist and notorious globetrotter C215 visited Jamaica last month to leave several portraits of local celebrities in the streets such as Bob Marley (in his hometown), Bunny Wailer, Robert Nesta Marley and others.
About the artist
Christian Guémy, also known by his artist name C215, is a Parisian street artist focused on the stencilled graffiti art. He began spray painting in 2005 and is today one of the most talented and productive stencil artists of the street art scene .
“The art of C215 captures light, depth and humanity – this is what is difficult and rare when using stencils. Stencils tend to flatten the images and make them static, but a C215 developed a style of illustration and stencils which gives an impressionistic lighting to his subjects. Though, his technique is meticulously refined, his work transcends formal and seems to be in the heart of compassion and belief in the human spirit.”
