Three artists from “La Mancha” – Skount, Laguna and Rhode Montero – open coming Thursday their first collaborative show. We caught up with our friend Skount to find out a bit more about their upcoming project!
What can we expect from your new group-show, what kind of work are you going to show?
The viewer will see new big paintings and installation by Rhode Montero, Laguna and Skount based in a single project of analysis and synthesis of demographic, geological and biological transformation as conceptual material of the artwork, to create our own language between surrealism, abstract and new figuration that give meaning to a complex in changes in the earth’s crust, overlapping, destruction and generation of biogeographic new paths which in turn alter the human psyche.
Vertex group show presents three artists with different styles, whats makes the unity in the show?
The kaleidoscopic view and particular vision that we share of the geological and biological transformation of the environment generating surrealism situations in the human psyche. Each artist create for this exhibition their own world focus in different aspects of the society that interlock to create a complex and solic story
Why did you particularly team up with Laguna and Rhode Montero? Whats the connection and inspiration?
We decided for the first time to do a group show together because we know each other for long time ago, we are from “La Mancha” in Spain and all of us start to paint graffiti at the same place but after some years, we take different ways, we studied, lived and develop our work in different places and forms. So this time is a reunion after some years, doing something totally different that we used to do to create something interesting and new for us and for the viewer.
